DISNEY: Classic Ride’s Updates Taking Longer Than Expected

Disneyland has some big celebrations ahead!

The 70th Anniversary of the original Disney park is kicking off on May 16th, 2025, and it’s bringing tons of fun additions and changes to the park. Now, for the festivities, a classic attraction’s opening date has been pushed back!

Disneyland’s “it’s a small world” is opening later than we thought! The ride, which is closed for refurbishments and changes, was originally slated to open on April 25th and will now reopen on May 9th, 2025! The date push is thanks to new additions like adding Miguel and Dante from the movie Coco to the Mexico scene!

Coco has been a huge success for Pixar, with many fans calling for the movie to receive an attraction of its own. That request is in the works of being fulfilled over in Disney California Adventure, but guests won’t have to wait long to see Miguel and his alebrije Dante on an attraction. 

Although controversial, we love the additions to this classic attraction and can’t wait to see Miguel in action, singing along with the rest of the children around the world. In addition to the new characters, Disney is also adding a new verse to the famous song.

The new verse is from a film that focuses on the Disney writing team, the Sherman Brothers. The film will begin playing inside the Main Street Cinema and it goes as follows.

“Mother earth unites us in heart and mind
And the love we give makes us humankind
Through our vast wondrous land
When we stand hand in hand
It’s a small world after all.”

The verse is expected to begin playing on July 17th, 2025. We never love when an opening is delayed, however, we are seriously excited for these additions! As always, be sure to follow AllEars for more Disney news and updates.
