If You Think You're 'Too Old' for Disney Channel Shows, This New Show Might Make You Think Again

Let’s go back in time, shall we? It’s Friday night, and you just got home from school. You excitedly turn on the TV and tune into your favorite channel. If you grew up a Disney kid, then I’m sure that channel was none other than the Disney Channel.

I used to pretend to do my own Disney Channel Wand ID (and maybe I still do…)

Episodes from your favorite series play, from That So Raven to The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Hannah Montana, and everything in between. It was a good time to be a kid. But now, we’re back in the present, and it seems like Disney Channel is no longer the channel we grew up with. Except…what if it is?

As much as we wish time travel existed, there’s no need for that to experience a show that I believe even us grown-up Disney fans can enjoy. Allow me to introduce to you Wizards Beyond Waverly Place!

Look familiar? Yup, the Russo family is back! In this Wizards of Waverly Place reboot, Justin Russo (played by David Henrie) has chosen to live a normal, magic-free life, but when his younger sister Alex (played by Selena Gomez) shows up with Billie (played by Janice LeAnn Brown) a young wizard-in-training, Justin realizes it’s time to dust off his wand and brush up on his magical skills once again.

Now, Justin has to juggle mentoring Billie and keeping up with his regular responsibilities, all while making sure to protect the Wizard World. But that’s not even the best part!

Some of our favorite characters from the original series will be featured in episodes, including Jerry and Theresa, AKA Mr. & Mrs. Russo! And, of course, who isn’t excited over Selena Gomez’s return as the iconic Alex Russo? If you hear squealing in the distance, don’t mind me; I’m just very excited.

So yeah, maybe we can’t go back in time, but as a childhood fan of Wizards of Waverly Place, this sounds like the perfect show to tune into and relieve the joy I felt back in the day whenever I watched their magical antics on screen.

This is a true throwback show perfect for all of us who grew up with the original series, and I, for one, am so excited to see the Russo family (old and new) take on another magical adventure!

As a childhood fan of Wizards of Waverly Place, this reboot makes me giddy and emotional
