Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe theme park opens in May 2025 and we literally CAN’T WAIT!

Packed with five new portals (lands), this theme park will include theming based on Super Nintendo, How To Train Your Dragon, Universal’s classic monsters, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Potterheads — as they’re affectionately called — are especially excited about The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic and can’t wait to see what the new land looks like. With that said, if the Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe truly wants to be elite, it has to have one specific thing…
The new Ministry of Magic portal will allow guests to “discover a different era of the wizarding world in an all-new land that blends 1920s wizarding Paris from Warner Bros. Pictures’ Fantastic Beasts films with the iconic British Ministry of Magic from the Harry Potter series” according to Universal.

Featuring aesthetics from 1920s Paris to the 1990s British Ministry, this land is supposed to tie the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films together for an amazing theme park experience.

The use of the latter franchise is especially interesting since the other two Wizarding World-themed lands borrow heavily from Harry Potter. With this one giving Fantastic Beasts its time in the sun, there’s one thing we’re BEGGING Universal to include: Niffler!

This little thieving magical creature is an adorable fan-favorite from the Fantastic Beasts franchise and Harry Potter books and games, and is already establishing a Universal Parks presence.
In September, it was announced by Universal that the ridiculously cute creature would appear during The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Fan Fest Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood!

Fan Fest Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood are nighttime events based around certain fandoms like The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Star Trek, Back to the Future, and Dungeons & Dragons.
Set to take place in the Spring of 2025, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter-themed nighttime event will include magical creatures, as well as an encounter with Niffler!

Who wouldn’t be down to see the famous Hufflepuff Newt Scamander meeting guests with a lively Niffler?! We’ve already seen something similar with the Disney Parks featuring opportunities to interact with the Mandalorian and little Grogu, which has been a rousing success.
And why stop with Niffler? With Universal ALREADY doing Niffler and other magical creature meet-and-greets in Japan last year and in Hollywood next year, it makes perfect sense that we see these wonderful little guys in Orlando at some point. Just be sure to watch your pockets…Nifflers are notoriously sticky-fingered!

We’re excited to experience everything the new Ministry of Magic portal has to offer along with the rest of Epic Universe! Until then, continue to follow us here at AllEars for all the latest Universal Orlando news, tips, and more!
