NEWS: Disney+ Launches Paid Sharing Service Following Password Sharing Crackdown

Disney+ has officially expanded their paid sharing program.

Disney+ has added a new option to share your Disney+ subscription with people outside your household.

Earlier this year, Disney+ began cracking down on password sharing. The streaming service updated its subscriber agreement to prevent subscribers from sharing their accounts with anyone outside of their household.

If subscribers did continue to share their account outside of their household, it resulted in violating the subscriber agreement. This could result in the subscription being canceled.

Now, a new feature has been expanded to allow subscribers to add one additional member to their Disney+ subscription outside of their household. This new paid sharing program will allow one additional Extra Member to be added to your subscription for an additional fee.

In the United States, it will cost an extra $6.99 per month for Disney+ Basic subscriptions, while it will cost an additional $9.99 per month for Disney+ Premium subscriptions. This monthly charge will be in addition to your current monthly rate and will provide access for one additional person.

Each subscriber can only have one Extra Member slot per account. If you want to add more than one person outside your household, you will be out of luck. The only option will be for them to sign up and pay for their own subscription.

The Extra Member feature is not currently available for Disney Bundle subscribers or for subscribers billed through partners. This feature is currently available in the United States, Canada, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.
