It’s hurricane season until November 30th and the next big storm is here.

We’ve been covering what is now Hurricane Debby since it was a tropical wave last week. We’ve also been keeping an eye on the Orlando theme parks, but Disney World and Universal Orlando remain open. Now, though, we’re here to warn you about flight cancelations and delays if you are flying through Orlando International Airport today.
On the morning of Monday, August 5th, a tornado warning was in effect in Orange County, one of the counties that houses Disney World.

But if you haven’t made it to Orlando yet or you were planning to leave today, that may prove difficult. According to Flight Aware, 203 flights have been canceled and 139 have been delayed at Orlando International Airport (as of 9:30AM ET). We expect this number to increase throughout the day.
UPDATE: As of 3PM ET, the number of flight cancelations was up to 257.

Orlando Airport posted on social media that it remains open and operational through Hurrican Debby today.

If you are traveling today, be sure to keep checking with your airline about the status of your flight. Even if you aren’t traveling to Florida, your flight may be impacted by the flight changes at Orlando Airport.

We’ll continue to see how the storm impacts travel and the theme parks, so stay tuned to AllEars for more updates.
