Is This Disney Souvenir a CLUE for Upcoming Tiana’s Bayou Adventure NEWS?!

When is a sipper more than just a sipper?

A BRAND-NEW souvenir sipper is set to arrive at the Disneyland Resort next month. However, beyond how adorable it is, we wonder if it might be a sign that a highly-anticipated ride opening at Walt’s original park might be drawing nearer. 

In late July 2024, Disney debuted a brand-new Tiana sipper on the @DisneyEats Instagram account. The cup features a figurine of the princess at the top, an illustration of Louis, and a really neat wraparound straw. We’ve seen this souvenir in Magic Kingdom, but it hasn’t made its way to Disneyland yet.

Along with Disney’s latest photo came a caption that revealed details about the sipper and its availability. It read, “The Princess Tiana Sipper will be goin’ down the bayou to Disneyland Resort starting August 1 at various locations throughout the resort.”

While the sipper by itself is adorable, we can’t help but wonder if its August introduction to the resort might be a sign that the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland may be getting closer. 

Currently, the West Coast version of the refurbished former Splash Mountain is still simply listed as “Coming in 2024!” on Disneyland’s official website. However, rumors have pointed to a late summer or fall opening, and with the D23 Ultimate Fan Event scheduled in Disneyland’s backyard of Anaheim August 9th–11th, there’s speculation that the event will produce an opening day announcement. 

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which opened at Walt Disney World in June, will see you “encounter familiar faces and meet new characters as you help prepare for a one-of-a-kind celebration during Mardi Gras season.”

Disneyland’s latest sipper, themed after Princess Tiana from The Princess and the Frog may or may not be a sign that we’ll know the opening date for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure soon. However, it’s certainly adorable and indicative of the fact that Tiana is going to be part of the fabric of the “Happiest Place on Earth” for a long time to come.
