OPENING DATE Announced for Haunted Mansion After 6-Month Closure at Disneyland

After visiting Disneyland and seeing the Haunted Mansion Holiday decor go up earlier today, we speculated that the ride may reopen soon. Now we have our answer!

Disney just announced that Haunted Mansion Holiday will open on July 29th! The ride has been closed January 22nd, 2024, so it’s been a WHILE since visitors have been able to ride. In past years, it closes for a short period of time to change from the regular attraction to the holiday version and back.

During the Halloween and holiday seasons, Haunted Mansion turns into Haunted Mansion Holiday and becomes one of the biggest attractions in the park. The Nightmare Before Christmas characters take over the mansion with new songs, animatronics, and more.

When it opens, you’ll ONLY be able to ride via Virtual Queue in the Disneyland app. That’s because Disney will still be doing construction in the area! The standby queue will NOT be available.

Here are the rules:

You’ll have two chances each day to join the Virtual Queue
- 7AM: Guests must have a park reservation for Disneyland Park with a one-park ticket or a park reservation for Disneyland Park with a Park Hopper ticket to request to join the virtual queue.
- 12PM: Guests inside Disney California Adventure Park with a Park Hopper ticket or inside Disneyland Park can request to join the virtual queue.
Make sure your MyDisney account is linked to your group’s park tickets before entering.
Each guest can request to enter the queue no more than once per day.

In 2023, Disney announced that the Haunted Mansion area would be getting an upgrade to “build on the story and lore of the Haunted Mansion.”

An expanded outdoor queue is coming with new details including new gardens inspired by Master Gracey, Madame Leota, and the one-eyed cat. There will be a water fountain and gazebo accompanied by statues and landscaping, and a new greenhouse!
