WAIT! Ray and Evangeline Are NOT Missing from Tiana's Bayou Adventure in Disney World

The newest Disney World ride is here and people are divided!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is officially opening to the public on June 28th, 2024 in Magic Kingdom, but it is off to a rocky start with Cast Member previews. We tried to ride on two separate occasions but were turned away due to technical difficulties. Luckily, Disney already shared a first look inside the attraction and although fans can’t agree on whether they like it or not, many commented on something BIG that was missing.

First, people were upset by the fact that Dr. Facilier was nowhere to be found in the new attraction. This was expected by some, though, because Disney has said from day one that the ride’s storyline takes place after the events of The Princess and the Frog.

The second gripe we’ve seen in the comments is that Ray and Evangeline are missing! If you’ve seen the movie, you know that Ray passes on and joins his love Evangeline in the sky. So although it wasn’t expected to see him live in the ride, fans wanted to see them somewhere together as stars.

Although we still haven’t had the chance to ride just yet, we did get to see some of the outdoor queue. And that’s where we found them! They are right there in the ground as part of a mural. Isn’t that sweet?

The iconic duo is also featured on the Tiana’s Foods water tower. Look closely at the top. Do you see them yet?

Yep, they are hiding the crown — you just have to look for them! Do we wish Ray and Evangeline could come back to life just to be a part of this attraction? Yes, of course. Should Disney have created an entire ride about their love story? In my opinion, absolutely. But we’re glad to see nods to the brightest fireflies in the bayou!

As we mentioned above, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is currently in previews and will officially open on June 28th. When it opens, you’ll be able to ride one of two ways — via Virtual Queue (which will open at 7AM and 1PM each day) or by booking a Lightning Lane after purchasing Genie+.
