Universal is looking back at its glorious past.

Universal has seemingly found itself at a bit of a crossroads in recent years. On the one hand, the company is unequivocally looking towards the future, working on several massive new projects, including the upcoming Epic Universe theme park. However, the company has also looked back on its past by celebrating the legacy of classic attractions and honoring fan-favorite attractions with merchandise tributes. Now, they’ve dropped a NEW legacy teaser that has us wondering what’s coming next.
On April 18th, Universal Orlando posted a somewhat cryptic video to their social media platforms. The clip, which was captioned “Now that’s something we haven’t seen in a while!” is set to pulsating music and features a ’90s TV.

The set first displays the classic Universal Studios logo before transitioning to static. However, within said static, there are icons that seem to hint at iconic Universal attractions and rides, including the E.T. Adventure…

…Jurassic Park: The Ride…

…Back to the Future: The Ride…

…Jaws…

… and Ghostbusters Spooktacular.

So, what could this teaser be for? Well, we’re thinking it could be the newest theme for Universal’s next iteration of its Tribute Store. However, given the company’s track record of blockbuster announcements in recent years, and rumors of these franchises being involved in a new parade, lagoon show, or both, we’re not ruling anything out. Either way, it seems like we’ll be finding out on April 29th.

The plot thickens! On April 19th, Universal share ANOTHER mysterious video, featuring lots of interesting items. We spied what looked to be some shark teeth (how very Jaws-esque, huh?), an old telephone, and an onion (is this a nod to Shrek?!). Interesting! Oh, and the note on the front of the box hints that something is coming this summer. We can’t wait to learn more!
