ALERT! A Popular Harry Potter Ride is Closing Next Week!

Whether you’re a muggle or a wizard, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando has something for everyone.

From Butterbeer to phenomenal rides, the two Harry Potter-themed lands at Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure are some of the best theme park lands in the world. With that said, we unfortunately have to be the bearer of bad news about an upcoming closure within The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

The Hogwarts Express is a fantastic train attraction that takes guests to and from Kings Cross/Diagon Alley in Universal Studios Florida and Hogsmeade in Islands of Adventure (as long as you have Park-to-Park tickets). The train features that classic Harry Potter charm with screen effects that accompany you on your journey. Unfortunately, if you intend to ride this incredibly popular attraction next week, you’ll be out of luck as it is closing for refurbishment.

Hogwarts Express

The scheduled refurbishment for the ride is a brief one, taking place from December 10th through the 16th. While the ride won’t be down long, if you are there next week you won’t be able to ride it at all.

Kings Cross Station

This is the second time the Hogwarts Express has been closed this year. Back in January, it closed after the pull cable snapped and needed a replacement. There haven’t been any noticeable issues since.

Hogsmeade Station

The Hogwarts Express also changed earlier in the fall (albeit without the need to be closed) when Universal corrected an audio issue to enhance the ride experience. Now when you ride the Hogwarts Express, Hermione actually sounds more like her film counterpart.
