Packing the right outfits for your next Disneyland trip may be high on your priority list — right after booking your resort and tickets of course! However, what you pack for a trip to Disneyland versus Disney World could be drastically different depending on what month you’re visiting.

We want you to have your Best Disney Day, and if you’re too warm — or too cold — it definitely could put a damper on that! We’ve already given a few tips on what to wear to Disneyland in February but is January any different?
Packing for vacation, especially a Disney vacation, can seem like a sport itself. If you’re anything like us you’re planning out your outfits by park or Disneybound, grabbing those last-minute extras, and of course constantly checking the weather. Check out our Best Day Ever at Disneyland here:
The weather in Anaheim, California, tends to have a mind of its own. In this part of California, the Spring and Autumn months are typically much cooler in the mornings and evenings.

If you’re planning to visit between November through January we encourage you to prepare to layer up. A light jacket or hoodie paired with jeans or pants is ideal. It’s a good idea to pack a few pairs of shorts — and a bathing suit since the pools will be heated, even if it’s chilly outside. In terms of shirt options, a few t-shirts and long sleeve shirts will also fit in well to add to your luggage.
Wearing layers will allow you to stay warm in those cooler times of the day while having the versatility to remove a layer as the middle of the day warms up. Of course, this can be subjective depending on what “warm” is to you from where you’re visiting.
Planning as much as you can in advance is wonderful but it certainly would be ideal to continue to keep an eye on the weather. For example, the average for November is around 73 with an average low of around 53, December’s average high is around 70 with an average low is around 48, and January’s high is around 70 with an average low of around 48. As you can see the temperatures for these months usually don’t make it into the 80’s or super hot temperatures so knowing what will keep you warm but flexible to add more as needed will be key.
What to Wear to Disneyland
Here are a few examples of what we would wear for a January visit:
These sweaters are a great option for keeping warm in the cooler mornings and evenings and being lightweight enough to pull off through the day as you’ve warmed up.
We can’t wait to hear what you’re packing for your next Disneyland visit in January! We post about Disney planning tips constantly so stay tuned to AllEars for the latest news.
