If you’re heading to Disney World, you need to be prepared to tackle Genie+, dining reservations, park passes, and hotel reservations. But you also need to be prepared for something else…the weather.

Flood advisories, weather delays at the airport, and a funnel cloud are among the recent weather concerns we’ve seen pop up for Disney World. And if you’re in the parks right now, there’s a weather advisory in effect you need to know about.
According to WESH 2 News, a flood advisory is in effect for Orange County, Florida, as well as Seminole County. Orange County is one of the counties within which Disney World is located (Osceola County is the other county within which the resort is located).
What should you be prepared for due to this flood advisory? Well, WESH says that “flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.”

The advisory is in effect until 5:30PM ET. WESH notes that there could be minor flooding in low-lying areas and areas with poor drainage.
One of our reporters actually shared that they were in their car when it started to pour.
UPDATE: Another flood advisory has since been issued for Orange and Osceola Counties until 6:15PM. Areas that could be impacted include Bay Lake, Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

If you’ll be heading to Disney World soon, be prepared for storms! While it might be getting cooler and more fall-like in other places of the country, Florida can still develop a lot of storms, and hurricane season is still going on. So what should you do to be prepared?
1 — Check the weather forecast ahead of your trip so you know what to expect. But note that forecasts can change, so you’ll want to check them during your trip as well.
2 — Come prepared. You can click here to see our list of 5 must-have items for hurricane season in Disney World, or click here for our list of Amazon items you need for a rainy day in Disney World.

3 — Note that some rides can close during storms. Certain rides in Disney World can close due to weather concerns. If you’ll be visiting during a stormy period, check the My Disney Experience app for updates and try to do those outdoor rides first thing in the morning or before the storms start (if possible).
4 — Stay tuned for more details. We keep an eye out for weather alerts that could impact your trip, so check back for updates from us here at AllEars!
