When you’re getting ready to go to Disney World, are you team drive or team fly?

Whether you’re packing up for a road trip or booking your next flight, there’s a lot to consider and plan for when it comes to making the trek to the parks. But there’s one company out there that wants to help you out with your plans, regardless of how you’re going to travel! Although they’re best known for their rideshare service, UBER wants to help you FLY to Disney World!
Uber has announced their plans to “become a travel ‘superapp,'” according to CNBC. The company is most widely known for the vehicle rideshare service that you can book in many locations around the world. But did you know that you can also book bike rides, boat services, and scooters through the app as well? Soon, there could be even more options!

Uber is looking to expand their services by allowing customers to book train rides, bus rides, car rentals, and plane tickets through the app. Uber won’t actually be the ones flying the plane (so don’t look for the little Uber sticker on the plane’s windshield) — instead, users can book their reservations using the app, which will have new software that brings the ticket-selling platforms to you.

Uber will be working with airlines, car rental companies, and bus and rail services to make this possible. They’re planning on announcing some of their partners for this service soon. CNBC has reported that Uber could take a cut of each sale that is made through their app.

So far, these updates are only coming to the UK version of the Uber app, and the new services are expected to begin sometime in 2022. If everything runs smoothly there, the pilot program could expand to more countries.

One exciting announcement with this development is that Uber will allow people to buy Eurostar train tickets through the app. This is the train service that has high-speed trains running from London to Disneyland Paris (along with other routes, of course).

An Uber executive in the UK said that the hope is for Uber to be “a one-stop-shop for all your travel needs.” He hinted that Uber may even add hotels to the app sometime in the future.

Who knows — maybe soon you’ll be able to book your rideshare to the airport, flight, and car rental for your Disney World trip all in one place! Keep following AllEars for more of the latest news that could impact your upcoming Disney vacation.
