The Shanghai Disney Resort is ready to kick off the Year of the Tiger in a resort-wide celebration this year!
To celebrate the arrival of this special time of year, Shanghai Disney Resort is hosting a resort-wide celebration to kick off the Lunar New Year with brand-new Spring Festival events, entertainment, decor, food, and more!
Pounce into the Year of the Tiger with Disney’s favorite spring-loaded friend, Tigger as he joins Mickey and friends for the Spring Festival. Tigger will join the gang for a special Lunar New Year character meet and greet on Mickey Avenue, sporting a specially-themed new look that supports the time honored traditions of the Year of the Tiger.
This year, the Garden of the Twelve Friends will transform into the annual New Year’s Wishing Garden where guests will encounter specialty photo ops and an opportunity to write down their wishes for the new year on special wishing cards and hang them throughout the garden.
The Surprise Squad, including Tigger and Goofy dressed as the God of Good Fortune, can be spotted in special character meet and greets throughout the park. In addition, Tigger will be leading various entertainment shows with beloved Disney characters giving guests the opportunity to kick off the New Year with feelings of happiness and good fortune.
Guests will also be able to find event exclusive merchandise, themed to the Lunar New Year and The Year of the Tiger throughout the entire resort.
Special event themed food items will also be available throughout the Spring Festival!
Spectacular shows and entertainment will also be featured throughout the event including the “Mickey Avenue Drum Ceremony” each morning, presided over by Tigger, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and friends to fill each day with good fortune and happiness. Guests can also look forward to the “Mickey Avenue Shanghai Swing!” staged at intervals throughout the day.
Guests can be sure to be dazzled by the kickoff to the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Tiger with Master of Ceremonies, Tigger at the Shanghai Disney Resort beginning January 15th, 2022!
