It’s almost time for Lunar New Year!
Disney’s already been busy celebrating with the Lunar New Year collection is available online and for purchase in the parks. But over at Shanghai Disney Resort, preparations are underway for a much larger celebration.
Shanghai Disney Resort recently announced the arrival of “A Spring Festival Spectacular” from January 19th through February 26th to celebrate the Year of the Ox. The resort-wide celebration will feature traditional decorations, exclusive merchandise, seasonal character costumes and even new shows.
SShanghai Disneyland will be adorned in “magnificent holiday décor”. Mickey, Duffy, and all their pals will be dressed to the nines in new holiday costumes.
Special character appearances will include “God of Fortune” Goofy and Clarabelle Cow, who will make her official debut at Shanghai Disney Resort!
Lots of entertainment is also coming to the park to celebrate. The projection show “Our Families”, featuring Disney families, will light up the castle following the Nighttime Spectacular.
And only from February 8th to February 14th, the Shanghainese version of “Once Upon a Time” will return.
Daytime shows on Mickey Avenue will include the “Spring Festival Drum Ceremony” featuring Mickey, Minnie, and Clarabelle Cow, as well as “Mickey Avenue Shanghai Swing!”
Of course, no Disney festival is complete without a line-up of food and merchandise. Families can celebrate a traditional Nianwei at Wandering Moon Restaurant, or enjoy some quicker snacks like fruit mousse cakes at Remy’s Patisserie.
The new 2021 Spring Festival Mickey and Friends collection will include festive merchandise like a Chip ‘n’ Dale headband and a Mickey family fortune set.
