If you’ve ever found yourself wondering what films helped inspire the mind of a Pixar director, you’re in luck! Brad Bird, a writer, animator, and director who has worked on several Disney and Pixar projects, will appear on The Essentials on TCM to present some “required viewing.”

If you’re a Pixar fan, you’re probably familiar with the work of Brad Bird, whether you realize it or not! Among his many talents, Bird has worked as an animator, director, voice actor, and writer. Some of his most notable work includes writing and directing The Incredibles, Incredibles 2, and Ratatouille.

Are you a fan of the incomparable Edna Mode from The Incredibles franchise? Well, she was voiced by Brad Bird!

And now you have the unique opportunity to learn a little more about what films helped shape Bird’s love of movies. Brad Bird will appear on TCM’s program The Essentials! Together with host Ben Mankiewicz, they will present some of the most essential films ever made. A few titles on the schedule include Singin’ in the Rain, Casablanca, and 2001: A Space Odyssey.
