Disney Could Be Working On A MAJOR App Update — And It Could Change EVERYTHING!

If you’re like us, you’ve got a lot of Disney apps on your devices, including Disney+, My Disney Experience, and the Disneyland app. You probably also have several Disney websites bookmarked, including the Disney World and Disneyland websites,  Disney Cruise Line, The Disney Store, D23, and more.

But what if you could access ALL of those Disney things in ONE app? Well, Disney is reportedly looking into a way to make that happen by creating a super app that would be your home for ALL things Disney, according to Bloomberg.

Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro is reportedly looking to simplify how we interact with the Disney brand. The idea is that Disney would create a “super app” that would allow you to stream your favorite shows, buy merchandise, book park tickets, play games, and more, all in one place. The new app would combine Disney+ with parks apps, Disney Cruise Line Navigator, The Disney Store, and other Disney apps and websites.

Now, this isn’t something that is definitely happening, but something Disney is, more or less, looking into. However, it’s not exactly a new idea: even previous Disney CEO Bob Iger thought about it, and something similar was even tested in the UK.

“Disney+ will continue to evolve beyond a traditional streaming service to become the digital centerpiece of our company – a portal that connects our stories, experiences, games, films, and more in entirely new ways,” Amaro said at the company’s recent shareholder meeting. D’Amaro, who is also a board observer at Epic Games, recently helped restructure the company to bring games and other forms of entertainment closer together.

Disney has also been looking more into user-generated content and A.I. Disney had previously made a $1 billion deal with OpenAI to use Sora, a text-to-video AI generator, but that deal fell apart when OpenAI abruptly shut down the Sora service.
