The iconic movie theater, Cinemark, just announced how they’re celebrating National Popcorn Day, and we can’t wait to join in on the fun. Last year’s viral BYOBucket promotion, where anyone can bring in any size container for popcorn, is BACK for only $5. The bigger the bucket, the better!

This year, Cinemark is bringing back its BYOBucket challenge with an exciting twist – it’s available on both Monday, January 19th, for National Popcorn Day, but also the day before the holiday, Sunday, the 18th. And that’s not even their only deal!

For 2026, Cinemark is making this promotion even more fun. They’ve partnered with home improvement store Lowe’s for one of our new favorite deals of the new year. You can get your blue 5-gallon Lowe’s bucket filled to the top with fresh, hot popcorn for only $5. Thats right! Only $1 per gallon! And if that wasn’t convincing enough, anyone who brings in a Lowe’s bucket will also receive a coupon for a free medium popcorn with the purchase of a medium drink for your next visit.

And in other National Popcorn Day news, anyone can play Cinemark’s new “Catch The Popcorn” game for the chance to win a year of free popcorn! Anyone who follows Cinemark on Instagram or X (formerly known as Twitter) can enter for the chance to win a free large popcorn. In addition, everyone can enjoy 10% off digital gift cards on January 18th and 19th.
