“Finally Didn’t Mess This One Up.” — Fans React to Casting for Disney’s Live-Action ‘Tangled’

“BEST. DAY. EVER!” Okay, possibly a bit of an exaggeration, but we are still pretty excited about this Disney news! Disney has been on a lengthy quest to find the perfect Rapunzel and Flynn Rider for its upcoming live-action Tangled movie.

The leads of this remake have big shoes to fill, and it appears that Disney has finally selected the duo! Disney was trying not to rush the process and wanted to be very deliberate and considerate in selecting the actors and actresses who would star in the live-action remake of this now-classic movie.

Drum roll, please! Walt Disney Studios has selected Teagan Croft as Rapunzel and Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider. Teagan Croft is an Australian actress who has starred in True Spirit and the Titans series. Milo Manheim has starred in the Zombies 1-4 and the School Spirits series.

The duo was selected after Disney had sent lanterns into the sky in the United States and the United Kingdom to find the project’s leads. The finalists for the role completed screen testing in London in December, and now we finally know we will play Rapunzel and Flynn Rider.

We took a peek at the comments on Walt Disney Studios’ Instagram post about the casting, and we mostly saw positive reactions to the choice. We saw LOTS of support for Milo Manheim being selected, including “Literally the only way I would’ve gone to see this was if Milo was Flynn” and “I manifested for Milo!! He is perfect for it!” Some commenters weren’t as familiar with them, but one wrote “Not too familiar with them, BUT I can dig it!” and someone else wrote “Excellent. I don’t know either of the people. This is what I wanted.”

We did see a few comments saying they were hoping for Sabrina Carpenter, Mckenna Grace, or Meg Donnelly as Rapunzel. Of course, there were commenters who didn’t like the casting choices. However, the vast majority of commenters loved the casting announcement! Next up, we really want to know who will be playing Mother Gothel.

We are eagerly awaiting the casting announcement. We are excited to see these two in the live-action remake of Tangled. Disney has not announced when it expects the movie to premiere yet, but we are making progress towards seeing the remake in theaters!
