Disney World is getting pricier each year thanks to rising ticket prices, snack costs, and more.
There are ways to avoid some of these price hikes, but others are unavoidable. Now, a new cost has hit Disney World that might catch you off guard and cost you hundreds if you’re not careful.
If you don’t know, Disney World will ship your merchandise home for you! During your vacation, it’s hard to resist those plushes, LEGOS, and more. It always leads us to the problem of what to do with them once your bag is full.
That’s where one of Disney’s most underrated perks comes in! If you bought any souvenirs in the parks or Disney Springs, you could bring them to your resort lobby, Disney Springs, or even in-park stores to ship your things home. You need proof of receipt, and you can ship it straight home with Disney’s no-break or replace policy. This is a great way to get those larger or bulkier items (like lightsabers) home without the stress of getting them through TSA.
In the past, if your merchandise totaled between $0 and $500, it would cost between $20 and $34.99 to ship your items. If your merchandise was $500.01 or more, shipping costs would cap out at $39.99. That’s where the change comes in.
The new shipping costs can be seen here:

- Between $0 and $100 will cost $19.99 to ship
- Between $100.01 and $250 will cost $34.99 to ship
- Between $250.01 and $500 will cost $74.99 to ship
- $501.01 and higher will cost $99.99 to ship
In Disney World, it would be easy to spend over $500, so shipping items home could now cost you 3 times MORE than it did in the past. Previously, this would have saved you more money than checking an extra bag with most airlines. Now, that isn’t the case.
