QUIZ: How Much Do You Know About The Brothers Who Created The Sounds Of Disney?

Have you ever found yourself singing the songs of Disney long after your vacation?

The Sherman Brothers

Disney has such a long, interesting history. From the movies to the music, there were tons of people involved in creating what we know as the Disney brand. Two people who had a very important part of this history were Robert Sherman and Richard Sherman! Let’s see how much you know about the brother duo that created music we still hum decades later.

You might hum “It’s a Small World” without even realizing who wrote it (and we don’t blame you—it’s been stuck in all our heads since 1964). But behind some of Disney’s most iconic tunes were two brothers whose music basically defined the sound of childhood: Richard and Robert Sherman. From Mary Poppins to The Jungle Book to songs you can still hear in Disney Parks today, the Sherman Brothers shaped the soundtrack of Disney magic. Let’s find out just how well you know the musical geniuses who wrote the songs of your Disney dreams.

  1. I got top marks. 8 years ago we saw a brilliant show called “A Spoonful of Sherman”at our local theatre in England. It told the story of the whole family, including their father and Robert’s son, who were also composers. The whole audience was singing throughout so it was amazing atmosphere.
