Christmas ornaments aren’t just decorations. For many, they’re little pieces of magic that capture memories, milestones, and your favorite characters.

But with so many limited releases and surprise drops, there are a few new “rules” (or let’s say, guidelines) you’ll want to follow if you’re serious about your Disney Hallmark ornament collection.
1. Know the Drop Dates (and Set Those Reminders!)
Hallmark releases its ornaments in waves. They typically do the Keepsake Ornament Premiere in July. There is also a Holiday Open House in November. Disney ornaments tend to sell out fast during these drops. Be sure to download the Hallmark app or sign up for the Keepsake Ornament Club emails because they’ll alert you when new Disney pieces go live.

2. Join the Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Club
If you collect Disney ornaments every year, the Keepsake Ornament Club (KOC) is a must. Members get early access, exclusive ornaments (sometimes Disney-themed), and even in-store perks. Membership also gives you a heads-up on artist signings, and signed Disney-themed ornaments can become worth a lot.

This Disney’s Electrical Parade Hallmark Keepsake Christmas ornament lights up and plays music when connected to Hallmark’s Keepsake Power Cord (we’ll talk about that in a minute!). When you connect this Magic Light and Sound ornament to Hallmark’s Keepsake Power Cord, the ornament plays music from the beloved Disney Parks Main Street Electrical Parade.
3. Prioritize Which Ornaments You REALLY Want
With dozens of Disney ornaments dropping every year, from princesses to Star Wars, you can’t always grab them all (unless you have unlimited shelf space and budget — in which case, we salute you). You could focus on a theme to collect, like classic characters, Star Wars, etc.

If you are collecting the Hallmark Keepsake Christmas ornaments, you’ll want the Hallmark Keepsake Power Cord. This powers up to 7 Christmas ornaments and comes with one Keepsake Power Cord, one wall adapter that plugs into a standard 120-volt wall outlet, and instructions. This eliminates having so many separate cords running through your Christmas tree.
4. Keep Those Boxes and Tags
Collectors know that original packaging equals long-term value. Even if you’re just collecting for joy, those boxes keep ornaments safe between seasons. You can even label the sides of boxes with the year or character name for easy storage.

An ornament as special as the Disneyland 70th Anniversary ornament is one you will want to keep in great condition. Sleeping Beauty’s castle lights up as music plays, and it is battery-operated. You just press the button on the Magic Light and Sound ornament to see it illuminate and hear music. The ornament plays music from “When You Wish Upon a Star.”Grab yours now!
5. Watch for Limited Editions
Every year, Hallmark releases a few online exclusives that become highly sought-after. For example, recent releases of Haunted Mansion and “it’s a small world” ornaments disappeared within days. If you see ones that are limited edition that you want to add to your collection, be ready to grab them as soon as possible!

Bring the Hitchhiking Ghosts home with you this holiday season with the The Haunted Mansion Hitchhiking Ghosts Christmas Ornament. The ornament is small enough to blend into your tree, but a fun addition for Disney fans!
In the meantime, we’ll be keeping an eye out for the latest Disney deals, so make sure you stay tuned to AllEars for more!
