If Disney World’s NEW Muppet Coaster Doesn’t Have THIS, We Will Riot

In case you missed it, the Muppets are taking over at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.

I miss you, Muppets Courtyard!

Hollywood Studios is experiencing a lot of change right now, and, as a disgruntled Muppets fan, I’m this close to losing it. So let me be clear, I’m on the edge of rioting in Disney World, and I have a very specific list of demands to avoid this chaos. Disney, start taking notes now!

If you didn’t know, Disney has officially closed Muppets Courtyard to make way for Monsters, Inc. Land in Hollywood Studios. I have gone through every stage of grief during this period, and now I’m looking to the future.

To try and keep the Muppet fans satiated, Disney also announced that the Muppets will be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster sometime in 2026. While this feels more like a band-aid than an actual fix, I’m just glad the Muppets aren’t gone forever. That being said, I have a list of demands that need to be met or Disney will have a one-woman riot on their hands! (An emotion riot, not a real one.)

Starting us off, I need an homage to the Miss Piggy Fountain. Don’t play with me, Disney. You know she was iconic, and I know you removed her from the fountain early on in the construction process. I don’t want her to become a piece of archival history that you show off every few years on a behind-the-scenes show. At the very least, please give us a little nod to what we’ve lost.

Two, there should be lots of Statler and Waldorf commentary. They’re grumpy, they’re haters, and I just know they will make me giggle while I wait in line for the attraction. Get creative! Get the writing teams to work ASAP on their heckling. They’re staples in any Muppet film, attraction, or show, so you can’t leave them out now.

Number three, we need extra Rizzo or some rat pizza. Yes, believe it or not, I am going to miss Rizzo’s Rat Pizza, and while I don’t expect to find a quick service in line, I do expect a nod to this little guy. Even if you have him dressed as Mickey Mouse, like we used to see in the Muppet Vision preshow, I will be happy. Maybe the Pretzel Palooza cart in front of the ride can be rethemed. I’m open to negotiations.

Fourth, I expect to find a key under the mat somewhere in that attraction’s queue. If you didn’t know, at the entrance to Muppet Vision 3D, there was a sign that said “back in 5 minutes key is under mat.” When you lifted the mat, there WAS a key! It was a silly little something that we loved looking at every time we walked into the show. I need that key under the mat to feel alive!

Key is under the mat!

Number 5, if there aren’t tons of Easter Eggs, we will have a problem! In the MuppetVision 3D preshow, there were so. many. Easter Eggs. One example was Jim Henson depicted as a muppet, a net full of jello (like the famous Mouseketeer Annette Funicello), and more! While I’m not expecting them to be the same things, I do expect little jokes and hidden gems as I wait what will inevitably be hours in line.

My next request is a salute to all coasters, but mostly this one! Disney, I’m going to let you interpret that how you see fit, but if I don’t get a nod to Sam Eagle in some capacity, I will be very unhappy. And before you ask, no, Regal Eagle in EPCOT doesn’t count.

Number 7, at some point, we need to hear a little bit of “Rainbow Connection”. I won’t require you to play the entire song (although I would love that). I’m sure you need something a little faster to go with the high-speed attraction, and Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem have some great hits. But it just wouldn’t be a fully Muppet production without the tune at some point.

While I’m busy making demands, I would love to see a Sweetumes and Bean Bunny cameo somewhere within the attraction. These two were such a huge part of MuppetVision 3D, and I’m really hoping we haven’t said goodbye to them in Hollywood Studios. They were both the only characters to come out of the screen, and I want them with me on the new thrill ride, too. If they can’t be a part of the attraction, at least let them stand in line with me.

Finally, I would personally love a glorious 3-hour finale! This can tie back into my Sam Eagle commentary, but in some regards, we need that finale. In Muppet Vision 3D, Sam promised them a 3-hour finale until Kermit reminded him he only had a minute and a half. So while I can’t honestly expect a 3-hour finale, I can hope for something major on this attraction. Luckily, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster lasts for 1 minute and 22 seconds, so Disney, you can make this work.

Now that you have my list of demands, Disney, I expect to hear back! If you can meet these conditions, I will CONSIDER not rioting. As always, be sure to keep following AllEars for more Disney news and updates.

  1. Please don’t remove Doc McStuffins from the Parks!

I urge you to keep her! My Disney Experience is not going to be the same without her.
