Disney’s NEW ‘Coco’ Ride Takes a HUGE Step!

Disneyland has a lot of new attractions on the way, partly due to the Disneyland Forward project being approved.

There’s a new Avatar land on the way (which does unfortunately mean the closure of one iconic Disneyland ride), and we know that a new Coco ride is on the way to Pixar Pier. We’ve just learned that Disneyland has now submitted plans to begin work on the new attraction!

The Orange County Register has reported that Walt Disney Imagineering has submitted early plans with the Anaheim Public Works for the new Coco attraction that will primarily be backstage between Pixar Pier and Paradise Gardens.

We know that the plans are for it to be a boat ride that takes you through the Land of the Dead with Miguel, Hector, and other Rivera family members. The attraction is expected to debut in 2027 or 2028, but no official date has been set at this time. It’s also unclear when construction will begin on this attraction, but you can bet we’re keeping our eyes peeled for any and all news!

Disney has also submitted plans for the two new Marvel attractions coming to Avengers Campus: Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab. However, Disney has not yet submitted plans for their Avatar land or attractions, but we’re expecting to see reports of those in the next few weeks or months.
