After Seeing THIS, I’m Convinced Epic Universe Is Holding a HUGE Expansion Secret

Are Universal’s future Epic Universe plans right in front of our face?

Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge

Universal’s Epic Universe has only been officially open to the public for a short time, but fans are ALREADY speculating about what’s coming to Universal Orlando’s latest theme park next? A Dark Universe expansion based around the Creature from the Black Lagoon? The Legend of Zelda’s Kingdom of Hyrule joining its Nintendo brethren? New portals based on intellectual property like Wicked? No one knows, but we think we may have spotted a clue about future expansion.

Maybe we’ve played too many clue-based video games — or perhaps spent too many years searching for clues about Taylor Swift’s next album — but we noticed something interesting about Epic Universe’s front gate the last time we were at the park.

Epic Unvierse entrance

The park’s front gate features five emblems, one for each of Epic’s existing portals — Celestial Park, Super Mario World, Dark Universe, Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic, and How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk — surrounded by golden circles. However, do you notice something else?

There are two FURTHER empty golden circles on the gate. Now, could they simply be decorative flourishes? Maybe. BUT, they could also be there because Universal is already planning two new portals for the park,

Notice anything?

While this may seem quick, it does jive with what Karen Irwin, President & COO of Universal Orlando, said in a video released in the week’s leading up to Epic’s opening. When speaking about Universal’s future, Irwin said, “There are already so many things in the works now. We have a slate of new attractions that were already in development for every one of our parks. We’re already planning the next thing at Epic!”

Could Wicked’s Emerald City make its way to Epic Universe?

Universal has claimed they’re already planning new expansions for Epic Universe, and we think the entrance gate provides a clue as to just how soon those new portals may arrive. Stay tuned to AllEars for more on Epic Universe.
