When Will the Live-Action ‘Lilo & Stitch’ Movie Be on Disney+?

Disney’s latest live-action remake, a new take on the 2002 animated classic Lilo & Stitch, hit theaters on May 23rd. What does that mean for the film’s eventual Disney+ release date?

The new Lilo & Stitch, from director Dean Fleischer Camp, is a relatively straightforward adaptation of the original and stars Maia Kealoha, Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Tia Carrere, Hannah Waddingham, Courtney B. Vance, Zach Galifianakis and original director/voice actor Chris Sanders, who returns to voice the titular Experiment-626.

Currently, Lilo & Stitch is in theaters — AND YOU CAN GET TICKETS RIGHT HERE — but if you’re holding off until the film appears on Disney+, you’re going to have a bit of a wait.

While there’s no definitive announcement as to when the film will reach Disney+, we can look at previous releases to gauge how long it may take. 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine was released in theaters on July 22nd and was added to the streaming service on November 12th, a roughly 3.5-month window.  Captain America: Brave New World hits Disney+ on May 28th, also roughly 3.5 months after its February 14th theatrical premiere.

Therefore, it doesn’t seem like too much of a stretch to speculate that Lilo & Stitch will also be on a 3.5 long calendar, putting its Disney+ debut sometime around September 10th. If that’s too long to wait, you can grab tickets NOW.
