Your MagicBand Just Got Even BETTER at Disneyland

Your MagicBand+ just gained a new superpower.

Disneyland 70th Anniversary Celebration MagicBand+

Disneyland’s big 70th anniversary celebration, which starts May 16th, includes ride changes, new food, exciting decor, and exclusive entertainment! Disney also announced that there are new interactive MagicBand+ experiences you can play with around Disneyland Park. Let’s take a look at how it works!

These MagicBand+ interactions are focused on opening day attractions at Disneyland. The park opened on July 17th, 1955, and yes, these attractions are still standing! The first one you’ll find is on Main Street, U.S.A. at Tilly’s Booth in Main Street Cinema. Tilly is a “Cast Member” who’s been working here for years.

If you scan your MagicBand+ on the big 70 button, you’ll get a special ticket referencing the new verse that’s been added to “it’s a small world.” “The Last Verse” is a documentary short about the Sherman Brothers writing it that will be playing at Main Street Cinema during the 70th Anniversary Celebration.

Over in Frontierland, head to Silver Spur Supplies for a surprise! This interaction celebrates The Golden Horseshoe, the Mark Twain Riverboat, and the Disneyland Railroad. You’ll get tickets here for all three attractions. Plus, there’s a little audio queue that plays with each.

Three tickets!

Find Fantasyland’s interactive feature in the window by Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique! This is a big one celebrating the Snow White attraction, Mad Tea Party, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, Peter Pan’s Flight, and King Arthur Carrousel. There are five buttons here that open little shields that show diorama scenes of different Fantasyland characters and attractions. These interactions don’t have tickets, by the way.

Jungle Cruise is one of the most iconic Disney rides of all time, so of course, you can find an interactive spot at the Skipper Lockers here! You’ll get a ticket here for your riverboat cruise.

What’s fun is that it tells you what Skipper crew you’re a part of. There’s even a video of a Skipper explaining what each crew member means. If you want more details, there are pictures of the crew’s meanings on the lockers, but you can also ask a Skipper what your crew means.

The fifth and final stop is at Autopia in Tomorrowland. However, during our visit, this one wasn’t available yet.

One thing we discovered is that the tickets will say different things based on your membership. If you’re a Magic Key Holder, the ticket will say so. Same goes for Club 33 and DVC membership.

Club 33

We think this could be one of the most fun MagicBand+ experiences we’ve had. We loved collecting the vintage tickets and seeing all the interactive elements.

Those aren’t the only special MagicBand+ features for the 70th celebration! At night, you can enjoy interactions at World of Color Happiness, Wondrous Journeys, and Paint the Night.
