I Can’t Believe I Almost Fell For This Disney World Souvenir Trap

Believe it or not, I actually don’t buy a lot of Disney souvenirs.

Photos are typically my favorite souvenir!

I know, I know, that sounds wild, and believe me when I say I’m tempted a LOT, but I usually end up using the photos I get from my trip as my souvenir, plus a pin every now and then. However, I have to admit to you all that I almost fell for a common Disney souvenir trick that we warn you against ALL the time, and this is my confession that sometimes I DO remember to take our own advice!

When I was a kid, I was a SUCKER for stuffed animals, and while I’ve massively pared down my collection, they’re still something I’m drawn to all the time. Specifically in the Disney world, I’m a big fan of the adorable Cuddleez plushes!

Stitch Cuddleez at Target

I have Eeyore who basically goes on every Orlando trip with me, and then Sven who acts as a guard holding down the fort back at home, but another one I’ve wanted for a while has been the Pua Cuddleez! Pua is easily one of my favorite characters from the whole world of Disney, and when I was on one of my park trips earlier this year, I was SO close to buying him in the parks.

Pua Cuddleez!

BUT then I remembered our trick that we tell you to look out for and was so glad I did. The Cuddleez was $40 inside the Emporium in Magic Kingdom, and when I looked online on Target’s website, he was only $29.99! That means had I bought him in the park, I would have spent $10 more, and hey, $10 may not seem like a lot, but I save money where I can.

I’m so glad I saved some money!

To make things even BETTER, I ended up waiting a little bit longer, the plush ended up going on SALE, and I got him for 40% off the regular Target price, which was even MORE savings than I originally would have gotten. Not to mention that I would have had to carry the plush around all day with me while I was filming, and that’s never ideal.

And I’ve got my eye on Pooh too…

While online stores like the Disney Store and Target will have sales every now and then that mean you could save on souvenirs, it’s much more rare to find similar sales in Disney World itself. So before you purchase anything in the park, see if you can find it online for cheaper! We’re always here to make sure you’ve got the best tips and tricks before you head on your Disney trips, so stay tuned to AllEars!

  1. Yes Target does carry the same Disney Cuddleez that are sold at the parks. However they are not always available. I discovered that when attempting to order Louis. I would advise before a guest makes the decision to buy their Cuddleez from Target they make sure it is available.
