NEWS: American Airlines Plane Catches Fire on Tarmac at Denver Airport

There has been a lot of news recently about airplanes and airlines, from baggage policy changes to SpaceX-related flight delays.

There’s been another flight-related incident with an American Airlines flight on March 13th.

According to CNN, American Airlines passengers were directed to evacuate the plane and stand on the plane’s wing at the Denver International Airport after one of the engines caught fire on the runway.

The flight was traveling from Colorado Springs to Dallas-Fort Worth with 172 passengers and six crew members, but the plane stopped in Denver due to “engine vibrations.”

The pilot initially did not think it was an emergency before landing, but shortly after taxiing to the gate, the engine caught fire. Denver Fire Department told CNN that “twelve passengers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.”
