FINALLY! Disney Makes HUGE Announcement for Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios

It’s a great time to be a Star Wars fan!

Galaxy’s Edge

Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro and Disney Entertainment Co-Chairman Alan Bergman hosted a feature presentation at the South by Southwest Conference on March 8th, 2025, and true Disney fans know that we usually see some news out of this. Well, they delivered and we’ve got an exciting update for members of the Star Wars fandom!

Remember those adorable droids that roam around Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land? Those are BDX droids and they are about to be an even bigger deal.

Wandering Droids

Later this year, you can catch the droids appearing at Disney World, Tokyo Disney, and Disneyland Paris! Just like they debuted in Disneyland, you’ll find them roaming around “performing” a little show. How cool is that?!

These droids can go up and down steps and get up once they fall over.

This isn’t the only expansion the droids have done so far. Recently, they boarded the Disney Wish cruise ship to say hello to cruisers!

Not only that, but these lovable droids will be featured in the new The Mandalorian & Grogu movie that is set to release on May 22nd, 2026.

Little is known about the specific plot of The Mandalorian & Grogu other than that it follows the first three seasons of the smash series. In December, it was announced that Jeremy Allen White was joining the film as the voice of Rotta the Hutt, the son of well-known Star Wars character Jabba the Hut.

We’ll be on the lookout for exact dates for the droids to debut, but it’s something to get excited about for later in 2025. Keep following AllEars for more Disney news!
