Former Cast Members Reveal the Magic Kingdom Rides They Never Go On and Why

As a former Disney World Cast Member, there are just certain things you aren’t willing to do while in the parks.

Cinderella Castle

Since we have been around the parks often, we just aren’t willing to budge on certain things. We won’t wait over 45 minutes for a ride, we won’t stake out a seat for the parade in front of the castle, and we’re not willing to buy a toy from the glow carts. But, there are some rides that are just a skip for us and some of them might be controversial.

Peter Pan’s Flight

Yes, we’re starting out hot with this one because it is such a popular ride for some. Listen, we understand the nostalgia of Peter Pan’s Flight. It’s an opening day attraction, but for us who are thrill seekers, this is a skip. We just don’t think it’s worth the long wait or the use of a Lightning Lane Multi-Pass, you can find us at Space Mountain instead.

Mad Tea Party

Honestly, this one is mostly for our health. While the Mad Tea Party isn’t known for being thrilling, it does make us dizzy. Sure, when we were younger did we love that? Yes! But now that we’re older, this just makes us disoriented.

Tomorrowland Speedway

The Tomorrowland Speedway is a skip for us for a few reasons. The line can get pretty backed up here and it doesn’t feel like it’s worth the wait. It also just is not as fun to do as an adult by yourself. If you have a kid, it’s great, but for us, it is a big use of your time and we’d rather be riding the PeopleMover instead.

TRON Lightcycle / Run

Before you yell “WHAT” at your screen for this one, hear us out about TRON. When you could grab a Virtual Queue for this ride, we were all for it. But now that your options are standby or Lightning Lane Single Pass, it’s a no-go on most days. It’s not worth the extra money for a single pass for us. We will ride it for a special occasion, but for those of us in the parks often, we just can’t justify the wait or the extra money.

TRON

These are just our former Cast Members’ opinions, so if one of these rides is a MUST do for you… do it! That’s what makes Disney World so great, there’s something for everyone.

Magic Kingdom

What is a must do for someone might be a skip for others and that’s great! For more Disney tips, be sure to follow us at AllEars.net.

  1. I guess it’s a matter of opinion just like restaurants. We always hit the Peter Pan and Small World rides several times when we’re at Disney World. Yes, it’s nostalgia, but they are fun rides for us. Not everyone needs or wants thrill rides. For me personally, I like the rides that show Disney’s imagination. I want to see the visuals on the ride without going stomach churning top speed. The slow rides might be boring to most, but for us we always see something different. You just have to get off your cell phones to notice. We also enjoy some of the thrill rides.

  2. Rides I would skip at Disneyland in the future would be Tiana’s Bayou Adventure because it’s not the princess and the frog film experience missing characters like Dr facilier, Lawrence, spoonbill birds, lady butterflies etc if they add them maybe I’ll change my mind. I will ride Mark Twain showboat and jungle Cruise boat ride once to film but not go on again unless they convert it to villains land ride like the rescuers Madame Medusa boat ride and I want jungle Cruise ride added with more character animatronics like Lily, Frank Wolff, trader Sam woman. I also would skip autopia unless they retheme it to a second Pixar cars ride since I get the same experience in a regular car on freeway. I also skip the spinning teacups ride and I don’t go on it’s a small world due to the song repeating itself. Also I skip soaring over California ride since I get the same experience in an airplane ride I want that ride turned into a WALL-E simulator ride. In the future I would like to see a treasure planet hoverboard ride Zipline or simulator. And add a meet the Robinsons car simulator ride to Disneyland. I would like to see Tom Sawyer Island turned into villains Island and land with villains animatronics like madame Medusa, yzma, scar etc.

  3. My no-go has to be “its a small world” . I have been to the one in Disneyland, Disneyworld (magic kingdom) & Disneyland Japan. It’s a good get out of the sun ride, but the song just gets stuck in your head all day after. Plus the line can get long.

    1. Disney World used to be great, but now it sucks. It was my dream to go there as a child, now I wouldn’t spend a penny or a day heading in that direction. The difference is that the original Disney World was built by people who knew Walt Disney and worked with him for years, and now, since the covid-19 Disney Purge, the people that work there and manage it and do the imaginary or an extremely left-wing woke crowd what’s a political agenda and ax to grind. Their hearts are rotten, and so their stuff falls flat. It’s not just not worth it, but it’s actually becoming repulsive.

I predict that all of this will backfire on them one day soon such that Disney goes bankrupt. The only thing that could save them is if somebody who loves the real Walt Disney steps in and buys the place, fires all the wokesters, rehires people that love Walt, get rid of the new garbage and restores all of the damage that the wall crowd is done to the original Disney glory.
