Have NO FEAR Marvel Fans: The ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Trailer Picks Up Right Where the Series Left Off

In a moment diehard Marvel fans like myself have been waiting on with bated breath, Disney released the trailer for the HIGHLY anticipated Daredevil: Born Again earlier this week.

The series will essentially function as the fourth installment of the previously Netflix-exclusive Daredevil series (2015-2018) and bring Daredevil and co. fully into the MCU. The show features Charlie Cox returning as the titular superhero AKA blind lawyer Matt Murdock (who has already appeared in other MCU projects, including Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk) and Vincent D’Onofrio as the evil Wilson Fix AKA the Kingpin. Deborah Ann Wohl, Elden Hensen, and John Bernthal are returning as Karen Page, Foggy Nelson, and Frank “The Punisher” Castle respectively.

After being announced in 2022, the series was initially scheduled to be released in early 2024 before being pushed back, thanks to the 2023 Hollywood strikes. It was then announced in the spring of 2024 that the series would premiere in March of 2025. The teaser trailer for the series was officially released on January 15th, 2025 — two days later than initially planned, with the delay done out of respect to the victims of California’s wildfires — and debuted across Disney’s social media platforms.

The trailer quelled the fears of many Daredevil fans, including myself, that the move to Disney+ would blunt some of the tone that the series was known for during its initial run. Specifically, the footage not only displays the series continuing the same story motifs of its predecessor, but it also maintains the Netflix show’s level of violence, which is much more brutal than anything seen in Marvel’s previous Disney+ series. The trailer also highlights the return of Daredevil’s red costume, after he previously wore a yellow variant in his previous MCU appearance.

Fans of the yellow costume — based on the character’s debut comic book look  — should note that the suit’s helmet does appear in the trailer.

Daredevil: Born Again — which takes its name from one of the “Man Without Fear’s” most popular and acclaimed comic book stories, though it’s unclear how much, if any, of the series is going to be an adaptation of that Frank Miller-penned storyline — is scheduled to premiere on March 4th. The first season is 9 episodes long, with a second already in production. Born Again is part of the 5th phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, under the Marvel Television banner.
