The countdown to Epic Universe is getting closer and closer!

Epic Universe is Universal’s newest theme park slated to open in May 2025 with new lands like Super Nintendo World, How To Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and more! I’m currently waiting on pins and needles to see this new park but there’s one land that is, frankly, already giving me anxiety.
There are going to be 5 brand new lands in Universal’s newest theme park Epic Universe. Celestial Park, Super Nintendo World, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe. I truly couldn’t be more excited to explore each of these new worlds but I have one major concern about Dark Universe specifically.

Dark Universe is going to be a land themed to classic Universal monsters like Frankenstein, Dracula, The Wolf Man, and more! It’s no secret that I’m a big scaredy cat (sometimes the Harry Potter films can be a bit too dark for me). I made it halfway through Halloween Horror Nights one time and decided that was enough for me.

So you could say I have some…concerns about Dark Universe. My biggest worry? The new monsters that will be in the land. When you step inside Dark Universe, you’re going to be transported into those classic horror films with tons of rides, attractions, and restaurants but that also means monsters will be heavily present in the land.

We’ve already gotten a glimpse at who we’ll be seeing once we step through the portal and I’m worried these monsters will scar me for life! On Monsters Unchained:The Frankenstein Experiment, guests are going to find Universal Orlando’s most terrifying attraction yet according to the Universal team. This dark ride takes guests deep into the catacombs of Frankenstein Manor, where Dr. Victoria Frankenstein conducts her twisted experiments.

In the story, Dr. Victoria Frankenstein invites guests into her lab to show you her ability to control monsters but when she tries to control the most dangerous monster, Dracula, she unleashes a hoard of angry monsters! Universal has already given us a sneak peek at what these monsters will look like and the pictures alone have me freaking out!

We’ve spotted Dracula, Frankenstein, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, and The Wolf Man so far.

The ride will have us trying our best to get away from The Wolf Man, The Mummy, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, the Brides of Dracula, and other monsters.

Can I be super honest for a moment? These guys are creepy! From a theme park nerd point of view, I am in awe of how life-like and detailed the animatronics are. From a very nervous woman’s perspective, I know for a fact I will lose sleep because of how life-like and detailed these animatronics are.

These aren’t the only monsters that will have me feeling fear deep in my bones though. I’m also gonna be on the lookout when I hop onto the Curse of the Werewolf. This is a spinning family coaster inspired by The Wolf Man where Maleva, the guild’s all-knowing seer and leader, is going to warn us that we all bear the mark of the werewolf. Nothing to worry about, right?

I’m not already shaking in my boots. Don’t look to check! If the ride animatronics aren’t enough to get me scared (they will be), guests themselves can become monsters thanks to the Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience.

This attraction lets anyone, regardless of age, get all monstered up with makeup and fake tattoos to showcase their love for all things spooky. I know for a fact Quincy is very excited about it. This land is also going to feature 3 new dining options and shops in case you want to take a break between your screams.

Oh and did I mention you can actually meet the monsters? It wouldn’t be a truly scarring experience if I wasn’t able to get up close and personal during a monster meet and greet! I’ll be able to be scared in real life by Dr. Victoria Frankenstein’s Monster, the Bride of Frankenstein.

We might also bump into Dr. Frankenstein’s assistant Ygor, The Invisible Man, monster hunters, and talented musicians who are going to tell you the tales of classic Universal Monsters.

We’re already starting to see the land come to life in Orlando and my hands are shaking! Whether it’s from excitement or fear, you can decide!

It’s true that I’m pretty worried about these monsters but I also can’t wait to see them all come to life. Don’t forget to keep following AllEars.Net for all of your latest and greatest Epic Universe news!

Are you as scared as I am? Tell me in the comments!
Not every part of the park has to cater to every person. For example, I for one will not set foot in the Harry Potter area, because it’s just not for me. If you’re that scared, don’t go through the portal lmao more gorgeously designed monsters for me! Universal is finally honoring their wonderful history of classic horror movies. I couldn’t be more excited!
