“It’s An Unnecessary Hurdle to Spend Time in the Theme Parks.” Disney Fans Are Begging for These CHANGES in 2025

2025 is rapidly approaching and you know what that means, right?

Happy New Year!

It’s time for our annual New Year’s resolutions! Are we going to do the classic types of resolutions like health or wealth related ones or are we going to do something wild like resolving to eat at every single Disney World restaurant in a single year? Speaking of Disney World, we’re wondering what Disney World’s resolutions should be. So we thought we’d reach out to you and get your takes.

We reached out to our followers on Facebook and Instagram to ask: “What should Disney World’s New Years Resolution be?” We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments!

What do you think?

Now, let’s go over some of your top responses!

Streamlining Guest Movement

If you’ve ever been stuck behind a slow-moving crowd, you’ll feel our reader Andrea’s pain: “To make all guests walk on the right when they are in the park.”

Thanksgiving Day crowds in Magic Kingdom

It’s a simple suggestion but definitely resonates with anyone who’s navigated a congested Main Street, U.S.A. While Disney can’t control every guest’s behavior, clearer signage or reminders from Cast Members could help keep traffic flowing.

Stop the “Squeeze”

Next, Robert didn’t hold back: “Return to bringing magic to the guests instead of finding ways to squeeze every last penny out of everyone.”

This sentiment was echoed many times in your responses. Many of you feel that the magic that you grew up with has been overshadowed by all the up-charges and “premium” offerings. This “nickel-and-diming” perception is certainly wearing on all of us fans.

Back to Walt’s Vision

Several of you brought up the Disney of old, like Barbara when she shared, “Go back to Walt’s quality and service standards.”

It’s hard to argue with this one. Walt Disney himself set a standard for guest experience that was almost revolutionary for its time. You’re craving a return to those values, where Disney prioritized quality over quantity.

Cast Members

Cindy shared, “Hire more cast members so that the service and quality of experience is back to the way it used to be—and pay them better!!”

Casey’s Corner Cast Members

Cindy makes a crucial point. Cast Members are the backbone of Disney’s magic, but labor shortages and cost-cutting measures have often stretched them thin. By investing in Cast Members, both in hiring more and ensuring they’re compensated well, Disney could enhance the overall guest experience.

Simplify the Lightning Lane System

Next, we’ve got Tina who suggests, “The new premium lightning lane be included when staying at a deluxe resort (similar to Universal!)”

Tina isn’t alone in thinking Disney could take a page from Universal’s playbook. Bundling perks like expedited access with deluxe resort stays could provide value without feeling like an endless add-on.

Eliminate Park Reservations

Two of you made your feelings crystal clear: Deb shared, “Eliminate park reservations for APs.” Chuck added, “Eliminate the entire reservation system for ALL Guests. It’s an unnecessary hurdle to spend time in the theme parks.”

The park reservation system continues to remain a sore spot for many. What was introduced during the pandemic as a crowd control measure now feels, to some of you, like an unnecessary obstacle. For Annual Passholders and day guests alike, the freedom to visit spontaneously is a huge part of the Disney experience.

The FastPass Debate

Several of you lamented the loss of the original FastPass system:
Like Nadia who shared “Free paper fast passes like the good ole days!!!!” And Jennifer with, “Bring back the old fast pass system where nobody is paying extra!” John added, “Bring back free fastpass and no more reservations.”

An old school FastPass

This trio of responses from you underscores just how unpopular the Lightning Lane systems have become. You definitely miss the simplicity (and cost-free nature) of the old FastPass program.

Package Deliver Need a Comeback

Lastly, we’ve got Julie, who shared a wish that resonated with quite a few of you: “Bring back sending purchased merchandise back to the resort.”

Package Delivery

For years, this service was a small but mighty perk that made shopping in the parks easier. It’s these little conveniences that make a Disney vacation feel extra special, and plenty of you want it back.

  1. Fix the DAS pass system!!! Disabled people don’t mind needing a doctor’s note- really, we don’t! When people with heart conditions are skipping the parks all together rather than risk death in a hot line, it’s pretty obvious that something is wrong! Disney just got angry that they became a hub for disabled guests, not because people were abusing the system, but because one in four Americans is disabled, and when we find somewhere willing to accommodate us, we tell each other about it, because it’s rare!

  2. I just came back 11/24. A 3 day pass was 588.00 plus tax. No hopper nothing else. 3 days in the parks. That’s ridiculous. They make tons of cash on movies, souvenirs etc. why not leave the price to the parks go for a while. It’s gotten to the point that I can’t afford to take my family there. Its a damn shame what Disney world has turned into….money hungry maniacs. Pretty sad Disney..Shame on you your gonna keep raising prices till no one goes there anymore.

  3. I remember how so many people loved the Osborne Lights every year, it was so magical!! Now they charge a ridiculous amount of money for Jollywood Nights for almost $200.00 on top of your admission price if you want to spend the whole day!!
At least the Osborne Lights were included in the admission! 🎟️

  4. They’ve taken away the magic with no magical express, increased prices, DAS changed, Genie+…its too complicated. So, we tried Universal Studios instead and like it much better. Bought annual passes and will take a third trip there in under 12 months. Disney won’t be seeing any of my money any time soon.

  5. Doing away with DAS will change my vacation plans. It’s like Disney is saying they don’t care about their loyal guests

    1. Or the ADA. From the horror stories I’ve heard they seem to have limited this program to children with autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities. There are tons of physical disabilities where DAS where DAS would be appropriate. I honestly think it’s only a matter of time before a physically disabled person comes to harm and they get sued for not providing reasonable and necessary accommodations as the ADA requires them to do.

  6. I miss the Magic Express… specifically how I could hand my luggage over curbside in JFK and my bags would be in my room at WDW.

The Magic starting before I even got to Orlando.

  7. They won’t get rid of the fast passes now, unfortunately for all of us bc they completely sold out during the recent Thanksgiving holiday week. And that’s all the Disney govt cares about..money.

  8. As much as I love Disney, they won’t be seeing me anytime soon. It’s all about 💰 with them now. No more, the happiest place on earth 😭. They’re rich enough! They really need to chill!
