Nostalgia Alert! A POPULAR McDonald’s Menu Item Is RETURNING in 2025

A HIGHLY DEMANDED item is returning to McDonald’s.

Over the years, many McDonald’s menu items have developed a cult following. From the (in)famous McRib to various flavors of McFlurry to seasonal pie offerings and more, these items are often offered in cycles. However, a certain beloved item that was removed from the menu nearly a decade ago has been MIA… until now.

In early December 2024, McDonald’s U.S.A. President Joe Erlinger announced that the company is bringing back the Chicken Snack Wrap!

The popular item — a simple concoction of chicken, lettuce, and shredded cheese in a tortilla, with either ranch or honey mustard — was first introduced in 2006 and was a major part of the chain’s menu until 2016. Pretty much ever since the snack wrap was removed from the menu, fans have been demanding its return.

Well, Erlinger is finally giving fans what they wanted during an interview with Good Morning America. Erlinger said, ”The Snack Wrap will be back in 2025. This has a cult following. I get so many emails into my inbox about this product. It will be back in 2025…It does [have a cult following]. It really does.”

Erlinger didn’t reveal the exact 2025 return date for “competitive reasons,” presumably indicating that the Chicken Snack Wrap’s return will be accompanied by a large and coordinated marketing push.

The return of this popular item comes at a challenging time for McDonald’s. The chain is dealing both with inflation (hence the introduction of various new value options) and an E. coli outbreak, which was linked to ingredients in the chain’s Quarter Pounder.

Erlinger spoke about the outbreak on GMA as well, saying, “I want to apologize to all of our customers who were harmed by this incident… We stopped using the supplier facility from which they came and we stopped sourcing onions from the farm. The CDC and FDA announcement earlier this week gave us the all-clear. The investigation is over, but the work’s not done at McDonald’s.”
