One of the worst things about traveling is the fear that your airline will lose your bags.

This is especially a problem if you’re flying TO your location since starting your vacation with none of your clothes and belongings is stressful beyond belief, but having your luggage lost when returning is almost just as bad, since you’re still losing your belongings and potentially any souvenirs you bought. If this is a common stressor for you, this new feature of Apple AirTags may be the perfect thing to ease your mind!
Apple AirTags have been used by many travelers since their debut over three years ago to keep track of where their items are at any given time, but according to The Washington Post, there’s a new update coming to AirTags that can make finding a lost bag even easier!

This past Monday, Apple announced that a new feature would be coming to AirTags that allow users to “Share Item Location” which will allow them to securely share their AirTag’s location to third parties, such as airlines!

To begin the process, which will start with an iOS update, Apple will work with 15 airlines globally (including, but not limited to, Delta and United Airlines in the United States) who will integrate it directly into their customer service operations.

It’s likely that this process will need a little bit of time to works out some minor issues, but hopefully this will help lost bags reunite with their owners faster. However, the airlines are not providing these AirTags — customers must purchase AirTags on their own and have them on/in their luggage.
