Now, we love Disney World, right?

There’s nothing better than getting to run and play around all the parks, and eat all the food. In fact, the only thing that comes close is staying right at Disney World, right? Well, we know how magical it can be to stay right on the property, but we were wondering if there were any times in the Disney World hotels that were, shall we say, less than magical? So we thought we’d reach out to you and get your takes. Well, we asked, and you delivered!
We reached out to our followers on Facebook and Instagram to ask: “What is your WORST Disney World hotel problem?” We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments!

Now, let’s go over some of your top responses!
Loud Neighbors
First up, our reader Ellen shared, “Stayed at the wilderness lodge last week. The people in the next room were SO LOUD we changed rooms. I don’t mind a little noise, especially kids, I had my own, I know what it’s like. But this was loud and excessive. Please be mindful of your surroundings.”

Ellen, we can understand how you feel! Disney World is a family-friendly destination, and while we all expect a certain level of noise, sometimes it can go overboard. The good news is that Disney resorts are known for their excellent customer service, so if you find yourself in a similar situation, don’t hesitate to reach out to the front desk. They’re often more than happy to help, even if it means switching rooms.
Long Waits for Buses
Next, we had Lisa who shared, “Waiting over an hour for buses from parks BACK to the hotel!”

Oh, we have definitely experienced that kind of wait before! After a long day at the parks, no one wants to wait another hour to get back to the hotel. One tip that we always try to keep in mind that can help to avoid this issue is to plan your exits from the park a little earlier than closing time when possible. Also, you might want to consider trying alternate modes of transport, like the Skyliner ( especially if your resort is connected) or even rideshare services (if your budget allows for them) for a quicker return.
High Costs and Limited Budget Options
Next, Laura shared with us, “Too many DVC and deluxe priced locations and not enough for those of us who cannot afford those. I’d like to see them add another value level resort. That tower at the campground could be cool as a value resort. Right?”

Disney’s deluxe resorts are pretty special, but their price tags definitely aren’t for everyone. A few tips that have helped us save are looking into booking during off-peak seasons, or maybe checking out one of the moderate resorts like Coronado Springs should your budget have room for that. Also, we’re right there with you imagining how fun another budget-friendly option at Disney World would be.
Limited Breakfast Options Early in the Morning
Rachel shared, “It was pretty annoying that full breakfast didn’t start early enough to make park opening at the hotel quick service. I had to just eat a croissant and go.”

Rachel, we hear you. The struggle is real. When you’re trying to catch those rope-drop moments, waiting around for a full breakfast can be frustrating. One thing we’ve done is to try mobile ordering from quick-service spots or even grabbing something to go the night before. I mean, the mini-fridge can make it easy to grab-and-go in the morning.
Lack of Room Service
Daveaux shared, “All hotels need room service! When you get back late, you’re hungry, and most of the food carts & dining locations are already closed.”

Daveaux, this is exactly what we’ve been dreaming of for the longest. But to your point, not all Disney resorts offer full room service. That being said, the best advice we can give is to be aware of all the late night spots in your resort and even Mobile Ordering more often. Who knows? Maybe Disney will eventually add more convenience for us night owls.
Issues with MagicBands and Room Access
Lastly, Danielle shared, “The door didn’t unlock with the MagicBand and we had to go to the front desk every time we needed to get into our room. It needed to be completely replaced. HOWEVER, the Cast Members were FANTASTIC!!!”

As we all know, technology doesn’t always work as planned, and when it comes to just trying to get back into your hotel room, this can be a pain. If you’re having trouble, follow Danielle’s example and head to the front desk. Cast Members truly are magical when it comes to helping you out!

What is your WORST Disney World hotel problem? Tell us all about it down in the comments!
This past May we stayed at the Yacht Club, and splurged for a lake view room. The second night there was a group next door that must have been watching a game, they were yelling and cheering very loudly. We had to call the front desk and complain but it took awhile for them to settle down, don’t even think they did anything about it. I know you can’t avoid all noise but we try to be respectful, even keeping the tv volume down. That night was the worst we’ve experienced after years staying at Disney resorts.
We wanted to go to Disney Springs from Magic Kingdom by bus. No longer possible. We had to go to a resort first. We chose the bus to Wilderness Lodge and had to wait 45 minutes for a bus to DS. But first we had to make a pick up at the Contemporary where the people there were waiting 30 minutes. For what it costs to stay at those 2 resorts, waiting more than 10 minutes for a bus is UNACCEPTABLE!
My worst experience was at The Caribbean beach hotel. We had a defective refrigerator in our room. It was smoking and looked like it would catch on fire. My travel companion unplugged it and put it outside of the room. When we contacted the front desk they had an oh well attitude. I will never stay there again!! Oh well!!
