In addition to some new attractions, sometimes Disney needs to work on existing attractions to give them a little attention and TLC when they need it. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Disneyland will close for a small refurbishment on November 18th. Now we know when you’ll be able to enjoy the wildest ride in the wilderness once again!

The Disneyland calendar now shows ride operating hours through mid-December, confirming that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is expected to open on December 13th!

This means the ride will be closed for just under a month — it’s certainly not a short amount of time when compared to some other refurbishments that have only taken a week or so, but not nearly as long as the year-long refurbishment coming to Disney World’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in early 2025.

That’s not the only ride that will be closed in Disneyland in November — “it’s a small world” will close in the beginning half of the month to transition into its holiday overlay, scheduled to open on November 15th. Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln remains closed and will soon welcome a new show in 2025 called Walt Disney – A Magical Life, but both shows will eventually play in rotation with each other. Dumbo the Flying Elephant will be closed for one day on November 19th, and Ariel’s Undersea Adventure will be down from November 4th-22nd.
