Well…this is awkward. When Disney World first announced that it was creating a brand-new holiday party in Hollywood Studios, we thought FOR SURE people were gonna love it. After all, people adore Disney’s other seasonal parties, like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
But last year, even though the Jollywood Nights party was shiny, new, and exciting, only a few party nights filled up. Meanwhile, every single Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party date sold out in 2023! Poor Jollywood! Could things be different this year?
It’s important to keep in mind that, like we said, 2023 marked the very first year Disney’s Hollywood Studios tried its hand at a holiday event. People had high expectations, and many felt that in comparison to Magic Kingdom’s holiday party, Jollywood Nights just didn’t have enough to offer.
There was a fabulous stage show, a Nightmare Before Christmas sing-along, character meet-and-greets, and plenty of snacks throughout the night, but no parade, and no free treats.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party vs. Jollywood Nights: Which One Is Worth Your Money in Disney World?
For a lot of people, that was a real dealbreaker!
This year, Disney has made some changes. They announced that a new ice skating show called“Glisten!” will take place on Hollywood Boulevard. We also know there will be LOTS more character meet-and-greets this year, including rare characters like José Carioca, Panchito, Rescue Rangers Chip ‘n’ Dale, Santa Duffy, Santa Stitch, The Mandalorian, and more!
NEW Offerings Announced for 2024 Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Additionally, Disney is trying to smooth out the process of attending Jazzy Holidays, a special dining experience at the Hollywood Brown Derby. This year, you can make advance dining reservations instead of joining a walk-up waitlist in the park.
It sounds like Disney is really trying to improve the event this year, right? Well, at $159–$179 per ticket, it seems like the party isn’t exactly selling out…yet. We’ll be sure to keep our eyes on the calendar, but as of now, all dates are still available to purchase.
Every SOLD OUT Date for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Disney World in 2024
For comparison, one Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party night is already sold out.
While Disney is adding some extra things to see and do during the party, we still aren’t getting a new parade. And, as far as we know, there still won’t be any complimentary treats at Jollywood Nights, either. When tickets are upwards of $180, many people have a hard time paying extra to eat during the event.
Now it’s your turn! Are you willing to give this party a try? What do you think about the new additions this year? Let us know! It’s not too late to buy a ticket, and if you love the glitzy, glam style of Disney’s Hollywood Studios during the holidays, this party might be worth it! We ended up having fun last year despite the kinks on opening night.
Hey, if you’ve done Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party over and over again, this is a great alternative! It’s not cheap, yes, but the Magic Kingdom party is between $169 and $219 (!!!) per person. So that’s something to consider, too.

I did buy tickets to give JN one more chance, and yes, we’re still bitter about the Osbourne Lights being taken away. Last year we didn’t know what to expect since it was their first time, but it felt more like an adult party scene. We’re much older adults, so it wasn’t our thing. Prefer MVMCP which we’ll also be attending again. Had to convince my husband that it would be a way to ride the rides with hopefully less crowds and experience the park at night like we could when Extended Evening Hours was offered for all guests staying on property. He begrudgingly agreed to try JN again since HS is our least favorite park anyway. We can knock out our favorites and move on to other things during our trip. Really hope it’s a better experience for us this year.
