Disney Is Having a ROUGH Morning – Issues With Payment Options Are Affecting Disney World AND Disneyland

Disney is having a rough start to this Monday as their website and apps face technical issues.

Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom

The system to process payments has been down all morning for both Disney World and Disneyland.

UPDATE: As of 12:15PM ET, it appears that Disney’s systems have returned to normal. It’s possible you may have glitches as the issue dissipates, however, members of the AllEars team were able to book dining reservations and purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass.

The websites and apps for both Disney World and Disneyland are currently experiencing technical issues with payment options. Guests are currently unable to purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass, make dining reservations, and other actions that require payment or card information.

Disney World has posted a notice on their website, and when you first enter the app you will also be given a notification of the technical issues. Currently, it appears that only Paypal is available for select actions.

While Disney is working hard to get these systems back online, it currently means that guests are unable to make their Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass selections in advance and making their advance dining reservations is not possible since it requires a credit card.

The system has been down all morning so we hope that a fix will be in place soon. We will continue to keep an eye on the status of the website and both the Disney World and Disneyland app. Guest services is also unable to make Lightning Lane selections or dining reservations for guests.

Not only is this technical issue affecting guests trying to make reservations in advance, but it is also affecting guests in the park. Guest services confirmed that this issue is affecting pretty much everything including Mobile Order through the app.

At around 11AM, the ability to even begin a Mobile Order or view the menus through Mobile Order was taken down. Menus for dining locations can still be seen by navigating the location on the app, but all Mobile Order functionalities are currently unavailable.

But, that is not all. It seems almost all of Disney’s systems have been affected and even the Disney Store is unable to process credit card payments. Currently, you can only purchase items on the store if you are using PayPal.

While it can be frustrating when Disney experiences technical difficulties, know that they are working as quickly as possible to get the issue resolved.

  1. I could never get my credit card to work. Also you could not make DVC payments…..wondering if they are going to go adjust for that day of interest but guessing they will not. But what did work for me was purchasing a $500 egiftcard using PayPal from Disney Store. It takes awhile to get it…sometimes overnight (Disney Store needs to do better on this). Then using that Disney gift card to purchase the LL passes.

  2. Called DCL yesterday about 9:30A (Eastern) to book a cruise with a Placeholder. Was told their payment system was down and to try back in the afternoon of the next day. All good this morning.
