Are you flying into Disney World soon?

Now, flying can be stressful especially when you’re thinking about baggage fees, connections, and all the possible delays, but there’s one problem that you might not have accounted for that you’re definitely going to come across when you fly through the Orlando Airport!

As we were saying, there’s one thing you might not have accounted for when you fly through the Orlando International Airport (MCO) — the security lines.

MCO Security Line

The Orlando International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the U.S., thanks to its proximity to all the theme parks and this means that the airport is always buzzing with families, solo travelers, business folks, and everyone in between. While MCO is pretty good about keeping things moving, the security lines can still catch you off guard, especially during peak travel times.

Now, here’s the thing: Those security lines can be significantly longer than expected. You know how it goes — you think you’ve given yourself plenty of time, but suddenly you’re sweating bullets as the minutes tick by and the line barely budges. The frustration is real, and so is the risk of missing your flight.

But the good news is that you don’t have to be caught off guard! MCO has a tool on their website that lets you check live updates on the security wait times.

Seriously, you’ll want to use it because it could be your vacation lifesaver. A quick look at the site before you head out the door can give you a heads-up on what you’re walking into, so you can adjust your timing accordingly.

But that’s not all. MCO also offers FREE appointments to go through security. This service is called “MCO Reserve” and lets you book a time slot for expedited security screening. Think of it like a FastPass for airport security. Just book your time in advance, show up at your designated time, and breeze through.

Just make sure that even if you use these tools, make sure you don’t cut it too close. Trust me, Orlando traffic can be unpredictable, and the last thing you want is to be racing to the airport only to find yourself stuck in a line that’s moving slower than a Disney World park queue on a hot summer day. Give yourself plenty of extra time to get to the airport (at least two hours before your flight for domestic trips, and three hours for international ones).
