Miley Cyrus Just Became the Youngest Disney Legend EVER (and Gave the Most Iconic Speech)

That’s a wrap on D23 weekend!

Let’s go!

D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event happened in Anaheim, California from August 9th-11th, and boy, was it a whirlwind! We got tons of updates on movies, Disney’s cruise line and theme parks, and so much more. On the final day of the event, Disney held its Legends Ceremony honoring 14 people as Disney Legends. And let’s just say, there was some iconic stuff there!

History was made at the 2024 Disney Legends Ceremony — actress and singer Miley Cyrus is officially the youngest Disney Legend ever! She is 31 years old.

Lainey Wilson welcomed Cyrus to the stage during the ceremony with a performance of “The Best of Both Worlds” from Hannah Montana. That’s the show that launched Miley’s career at a young age!

Then, Miley Cyrus made her way to the stage to accept this honor. She prepared a speech (well actually TWO — one if she got scared and one if she was feeling confident) that was heartfelt, emotional, and hilarious, of course. In this video, she can be seen apologizing to Mickey Mouse for her behavior between 2013-2016. The audience including us had a good laugh at that comment!

This is referring to the singer’s “Bangerz Era” that started in 2013 when she released the album titled “Bangerz” and changed up her image which struck controversy.

She shared a “secret” at the beginning of her speech — “And what I want to say, is that legends get scared, too. I’m scared right now, but the difference is we do it anyway, and all of you can do that every single day.” We were feeling inspired!
