You Might Want To Rethink Driving to Disney World Right Now

When does your Disney World vacation start? When you hit the road, or when you walk through those park gates for the first time?

For us, the journey is part of the destination and we love being able to visit Disney World so often. But, we know not everyone has the luxury of being so close to the parks, and if you’re preparing to head out on a road trip through Florida, we’ve got an update on gas prices you need to know about.

Buckle up folks, because you might be in for a bumpy ride if you’re preparing to drive to Disney World anytime soon. After national gas prices hit their highest price in three months, Florida gas prices are following suit. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Florida gas prices have set a new high for 2024.

The state average reached $3.62 per gallon last week, and on Sunday, March 31st, the state average was $3.59 per gallon — 11 cents higher than what drivers paid last year. The springtime high price for 2023 was $3.72 per gallon, recorded on April 21st.

Spokesman Mark Jenkins stated, “Fuel prices made modest gains in the futures market last week.” He continued, “Analysts believe OPEC and its allies will not lift production cuts before June, even as seasonal fuel demand is projected to grow.”

West Palm Beach-Boca Raton ($3.77), Naples ($3.69) and Port St. Lucie ($3.65) have the highest prices, while Panama City ($3.22), Crestview-Fort Walton ($3.23) and Pensacola ($3.27) have the cheapest.

The most recent average price for Orlando was $3.71 per gallon, so if you’re driving to Disney World soon, make sure you budget accordingly!
