We commonly keep up with all the latest McDonald’s news, because the restaurant chain and Disney go back a long way! And that just happens to mean we see other news regarding McDonald’s that doesn’t exactly pertain to Disney, but we still feel is 100% necessary for you to know. And if you’re a donut lover, you’re about to FLIP OUT at this news!

According to CNBC, McDonald’s locations nationwide will be selling Krispy Kreme donuts by the end of 2026! While the rollout of the donuts will begin halfway through 2024, it will take 2.5. years for the operation to be complete, as Krispy Kreme will have to more than double its distribution to keep up with demand.

Have you ever noticed that most Krispy Kreme donuts, even ones you buy from grocery stores, almost always taste very fresh? That’s because production hubs (Krispy Kreme stores or other donut factories) make those donuts and ship them out EVERY DAY.

McDonald’s

Currently, McDonald’s has around 13,500 restaurants across the United States, and plans to open about 900 more by the beginning of 2027. That’s a lot of donuts!

Krispy Kreme stores now often make more donuts than demand requires, which makes this new partnership even more beneficial for them. We did know some bakery menu items were disappearing from McDonald’s menus and that this partnership was being tested at select stores, but now we know customers will be able to choose between original glazed, chocolate iced with sprinkles and chocolate iced cream-filled donuts individually or in 6-packs from McDonald’s.
