No, it’s not your imagination that you’re seeing a LOT of Disney news recently.

The Walt Disney Company just recently held its Q1 2024 earnings call, which means we learned how the company was doing financially, including its plans for streaming. We’ve already learned that Taylor Swift’s The Ears Tour movie is coming to Disney+ AND we got confirmation of a second season for the Percy Jackson series. Now, we’re going to let you know about a big change coming to Disney+ regarding password sharing.
Recently, Disney has started cracking down on users who share passwords on both Disney+ and Hulu. This means that you’re no longer allowed to share your account with those outside your household.

We just got an update on the situation. Disney will soon start to allow streaming subscription account holders to share their account with others outside their household…but it will cost them. Yes, you’ll be able to share your account for an additional fee. Disney expects to put this new service in place later this year.

Disney says they are confident in growth based on what they saw happen with other streaming services when they cracked down on sharing.

I have to wonder just how they can enforce this? Whats the point of streaming being a portable way to watch things??? I have two different home addresses and visit places for weeks at a time if I travel. I go to my dads regularly and when I stay over sign into my account on various devices. I’ve signed into my account while staying at Disney resorts on Disney TVs.
