Sometimes Disney World isn’t the Most Magical Place on Earth!

Your vacation can start feeling less than magical when you have to deal with unexpected things like closures, construction, and delays. There’s one situation above all of those that you never want to have happen — being pickpocketed! Let’s talk about some ways to stay safe and have a great time.
Imagine when you’re strolling through one of the Disney World parks, say Magic Kingdom, you’re enjoying your time when all of a sudden this thought hits you — what if a pickpocket decides to “join” the party? No worries because we’ve got your back! Let’s talk about how you can stay safe and still have a great time!
Use a money belt or hidden pouch
The key is to keep things close to your body and hidden.

You may want to consider wearing a money belt or hidden pouch under your clothing to keep your valuables secure and out of sight.
Minimize your valuables
Let this be an iron-clad rule for you — Only carry what you absolutely need!

Leave unnecessary credit cards, large amounts of cash, and expensive jewelry in your hotel safe (or better yet, at home)
Stay Vigilant in Crowded Areas
As you can imagine, pickpockets thrive in those crowded and busy environments.

Be extra cautious in places like queue lines, transportation hubs, etc.
RFID Blocking Wallets
Sometimes your cards can be stolen without ever leaving your pocket.

Invest in RFID-blocking wallets and sleeves to protect yourself from electronic theft.
Keep Your Bags Secure
Double and triple-check that your bags are zipped and closed properly.

You could also consider using carabiners as an extra layer of security for your zippers.
Distribute Valuables.
If you’re with a group, you could consider distributing valuables among the members.

That way even if one person is pickpocketed, the others might not be.
Use Mobile Pay
Consider keeping the cash at home or in the safe in the room and using your phone’s mobile pay option.

Not having cash on hand will greatly reduce the chance of you losing money if your wallet is stolen.

Remember, this is all about safety so that you can have a great time. The last thing you want to happen is to be pickpocketed, and if you add a couple of these tips to your routine, they’ll help to ensure you have a wonderful, stress-free time at Disney World.
