We’re coming out of the busiest time of year in Disney World. The holidays in Disney saw huge crowds, long lines, and high Genie+ prices.

We keep tabs on the prices of Disney’s virtual assistant, Genie+, every day. We also check which parks are sold out of park pass reservations for Annual Passholders (reservations are no longer required for MOST tickets!). And while the busy season is mostly over, one park is still selling out of passes while Genie+ remains low.
On January 13th, we noticed that the IncrediPass and Sorcerer Pass were both SOLD-OUT in Magic Kingdom. When we went to the Disney website, we checked both Annual Pass types, and both showed sold-out for the day in the one park.

The other passes, Pirate Pass and Pixie Pass, have blocked out dates for January 13th.
While in the parks, we didn’t notice too heavy of crowds, though, so this sold-out day for Annual Passholders didn’t seem to affect the park too terribly.

And Genie+ prices weren’t anywhere near the record high that we had seen over Christmas. The prices on January 13th were as follows:
- Multiple Parks — $25
- Magic Kingdom — $25
- EPCOT — $18
- Hollywood Studios — $22
- Animal Kingdom — $16

The sold-out Annual Passholder day also happens to be the day that we noticed a change in Genie+ and how Passholders can select Lightning Lanes!
Lightning Lanes are Disney’s paid “skip-the-line” service that you can purchase through Genie+. Up until today, Passholders could not select Lightning Lanes at other parks outside of their reserved park until 2 PM, even after all-day park hopping was put into effect.

But as of today, that has changed! Now, Annual Passholders can select Lightning Lanes in any park regardless of their park pass. This is a huge update for Passholders.
Since we go to the parks every day, our reporters are all Annual Passholders. One of our reporters was able to make this Soarin’ Over California Lightning Lane while holding a reservation for Animal Kingdom!

We’re happy to see so many changes to how we “do Disney” and the continued lower Genie+ prices. If you’re an Annual Passholder, make sure that you are always checking your calendar for reservations and “Good-to-Go” days!

This is ridiculous. Nothing like having a system that lets your most loyal fans (pass holders) know how you really feel about them.
