How the Stars of Harry Potter Just Made Internet HISTORY

There have been LOTS of trending topics over the past 2023 year to buzz about still.

While looking ahead to things like the most anticipated films for 2024 and hearing media analysts weigh in on changes that could be on the horizon for major entertainment companies soon we’re still also fascinated by the way things trend when searched online. We recently decided to browse Google due to our latest curiosity as the 2023 year wound down, and what we found made history.

Google usually does a year-in-search recap of the most popular things searched over the past year and while several of them rang true like Barbie, Spider-Man, and of course Taylor Swift one other thing caught our attention.

Seeing that 2023 marked Google’s 25th anniversary, they kicked it up a notch and gave us the most popular searched things over the past 25 years. Hard to believe that Google’s been around that long or that we’re that old already right?! We were surprised to learn that the cast of the Harry Potter film franchise was the most searched movie cast during this time.

That’s right! It seems we’re all a little Potter-crazed to know what stars like Daniel Radcliff, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, Evanna Lynch, Maggie Smith, and more have been up to during and since their wizarding world days.

While many have gone on to have successful careers spanning books, films, television shows, and more they (like us) have grown up to now have their own families and children. Sadly though, we’ve lost a few of the cast members in the franchise like Alan Rickman who played Severus Snape, Robbie Coltrane who played Rubeus Haggrid, and Helen McCrory who played Narcissa Malfoy along with over two dozen others.
