NEWS: Yesterday Broke the TSA Record for Busiest Air Travel Day EVER

It’s the holiday season, and that means the airports are getting CROWDED!

The Orlando Airport can be BUSY!

Especially during the days leading up to and following Christmas and Thanksgiving, you’ll find that air travel can be pretty chaotic. We’ve waited in our fair share of long security lines and squished into middle seats on plenty of packed holiday flights. But exactly HOW busy is this year’s holiday travel season?

TSA (the Transportation Security Administration) announced on Twitter/X that Sunday, November 26th was officially the busiest travel day in the United States…EVER. In one day, TSA screened just over 2.9 million people in airports nationwide.

That number is an agency record for the most travelers ever screened in one day. It’s no surprise that it comes the Sunday after Thanksgiving — the day when many Americans are heading back home post-holiday. But with that record-breaking travel for the November holiday…we’re starting to wonder about Christmas!

As we head into December and get prepared for travel at Christmas and the New Year, it’s important to prepare for heavy crowds in the airports. TSA recommends that passengers arrive at the airport early to plan some cushion time for going through security.
