Bob Iger has previously stated that streaming is his “number one priority” with his return to the company. Specifically, Iger noted that his priority is to ensure enduring growth and profitability when it comes to streaming.

According to the numbers released, Disney+ now has a total of 112.6 million Disney+ subscribers across the world (excluding HotStar). That is almost 7 million MORE subscribers than the streaming service had in the previous quarter. In the U.S. and Canada alone, Disney+ has 46.5 million subscribers, up from 46 million in the third quarter.

Internationally, Disney+ currently has 112.6 million subscribers — in the previous quarter, that number was just 105.7 million.

Disney has stated that these numbers have actually exceeded the company’s expectations and now believes its streaming business will reach profitability in the fourth quarter of 2024.

CEO Bob Iger credited some of the “great content” available on the service for the increase, including Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Elemental, and The Little Mermaid.

We’ll be covering even MORE from Disney’s earnings call, so check back with AllEars again soon for more coverage.
